Guidelines for Editors

The Editorial Board is comprised of experts in various key topics relevant to the journal, all affiliated with academic and research institutions. These members are dedicated to upholding the journal’s code of conduct for editors.

The composition of the Editorial Board is regularly reviewed and updated. Inactive members may be removed, and new members are invited to join based on specific criteria. Selected individuals are extended invitations to participate in the board’s activities.

Both the Editor-in-Chief and the members of the Editorial Board are responsible for engaging with authors who submit papers and reviewers who provide feedback and recommendations regarding article acceptability, the readership, the scientific community, the journal’s owner/publisher, and the general public.

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for clearly communicating the specific duties and responsibilities to the Editorial Board members and keeping them updated on any changes in publication policies.

Individuals interested in becoming part of the Editorial Board can start by emailing their CVs to the Editor-in-Chief. This CV should include their educational background, current affiliation, research interests, relevant activities, a list of publications and journals in which they serve as editors or reviewers, a contact email, and a link to their personal university webpage. The Editorial Board carefully evaluates each application and notifies applicants of the results via email. The selection criteria for new members focus on scholarly merit in areas pertinent to the journal’s core subject matter and a demonstrated willingness and capacity to engage in editorial activities.

All members of the Editorial Board are strongly encouraged to adhere to the core principles of COPE and PERK. They play an essential role in making publication decisions for submitted articles and contribute significantly to the decision-making process for manuscripts under review.

The Editor-in-Chief and members of the Editorial Board are expected to:

  • Evaluate submitted manuscripts based on criteria such as significance, originality, relevance, timeliness, clarity, and alignment with the journal’s scope. This assessment should be conducted impartially and without consideration of the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, religious beliefs, political ideology, or institutional affiliation.
  • Uphold and advocate for a consistent ethical policy, actively contributing to preventing academic misconduct.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the review process by not disclosing any information about the manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, and publisher.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of publication ethics and policies among authors, reviewers, and fellow Editorial Board members through proactive engagement.
  • Adhere to fairness, impartiality, and promptness principles, consistently implementing the journal’s publication policy.
  • Refrain from handling manuscripts when competing, joint, or other interests involve the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the manuscript.
  • Not use unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript for personal research purposes without securing written consent from the authors.

The responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief and members of the Editorial Board towards Authors include:

  • Treating all Authors with honesty, respect, objectivity, and transparency.
  • Respecting Authors’ intellectual property rights.
  • Ensuring timely publication of accepted manuscripts and promptly informing Authors of any editorial standards or policy changes.
  • Providing Authors with clear instructions and guidelines for manuscript preparation and submission.
  • Regularly reviewing the instructions for Authors available on the Journal’s website.
  • Monitoring Authors’ manuscripts to ensure compliance with the journal’s authorship criteria.
  • Ensuring that all manuscripts undergo a review by competent reviewers, and maintaining an effective, fair, and transparent article review system that is continuously improved.
  • Remaining vigilant for real or perceived conflicts of interest among all participants in the publishing and editorial process, and taking measures to avoid or address them appropriately if avoidance is impossible.
